How do I take part? What shall I do next?

• Download 2 poems by each of the shortlisted poets from the Poetry Book Society website http://www.poetrybooks.co.uk/projects/15 Available from November 1st.
  
  
• Click here to see 6 suggestions for how to organise reading and discussing the poems.
  
  
• Print off the Poetry Book Society flier, available here, with all the information for staff and students.
  
  
• Encourage students to read and talk about the poems, then vote in the student poll and enter the writing competition.
  
  
• The final deadline for votes and individual articles is 4pm on December 15th.

1. Student writing competition

Write 500 words about the sample poems by your chosen poet, explaining why you think that poet should win. Please email all entries to barbara@englishandmedia.co.uk by 4pm on December 15th with your full name and school.

2. Student poll

Take part in the nationwide student poll, by recording your individual choice (from November 1st) . If a teacher wants to send in their class votes, email lucy@englishandmedia.co.uk with the breakdown of the voting.
