EMC CPD Online: Refresh Your Approach: Teaching the Power and Conflict Cluster for AQA GCSE (Twilight online 6.10.22 4.15-5.45pm) Part of the 2 for 1 offer – see 'How to book'.

Course content

In this webinar we will offer ideas for ranging across the ‘Power and Conflict’ cluster of the AQA GCSE Poetry Anthology. We will then take a closer look at ‘My Last Duchess’ and ‘Tissue’, getting to grips with these poems on an adult level and using them as the basis for exploring practical classroom approaches to develop students’ personal and critical responses. The course will assume that you have some familiarity with all the poems in the collection.

NB: This is a repeat course.

Testimonials

Lots of useful activities and "ways in" to teaching the poems conceptually. Really clear addressing of what context is (and isn't!).

Miranda Pinder, Redland Green School on ‘EMC CPD Online: Teaching the Power and Conflict Cluster of the AQA Anthology'.

The course was exactly what I expected from the EMC and I've taken lots away. Thank you for providing such a fantastic CPD session.
