EMC CPD Online: Shakespearean Tragedy – a Lecture from Kiernan Ryan (Twilight 19.1.22)

Professor Kiernan Ryan is an Honorary Senior Research Fellow at The Shakespeare Institute who aims to create ways of interpreting Shakespeare’s plays that reveal their revolutionary vision of his world and their power to transform our perception of our world. This lecture will outline the argument of his ground-breaking new book on Shakespearean tragedy and illustrate it through close readings of key scenes in HamletOthello and King Lear.

This is an EMC lecture, with Q&A. These lectures, from experts in their field, are designed to refresh and enrich teacher subject knowledge rather than apply directly to classroom practice.
