Teaching Creative Writing Successfully at KS3 & KS4

Why should you attend?

If you are keen to improve the quality of your students’ creative writing at KS3 & KS4, reflect on your own practice and extend it and try out practical approaches for the teaching of writing, this course is for you. We will be joined for one session by award-winning writer, Sita Brahmachari, who is also an experienced leader of writing workshops. She will be using examples from her own novels and taking you through some of the writing exercises she uses herself.

What will the course cover?

  • A chance to work with, and learn from, a published writer.
  • What makes a difference? A range of evidence-based strategies for: improving motivation; setting up tasks; providing support for writing; responding to student work.
  • Opportunities to reflect on research into writing and creativity.
  • Balancing support and independence.
