EMC Teaching a Novel – When Shadows Fall (Download) (EMC_Free)

Before, during and after reading activities to support the small group teaching of When Shadows Fall.

Students are encouraged to read the novel at a lively pace, and to engage with the story, its themes and its ways of telling, critically and creatively – with plenty of opportunities to explore and then build on personal response through journaling and discussion activities. 

The overall approach and the carefully-selected activities support students in learning not only about this novel, but about narrative more generally, learning how to read, discuss and write about literary texts.

How to download When Shadows Fall

• Sign in to your account on www.englishandmedia.co.uk (or register an account if you need to)
• Add When Shdows Fall to your basket
• Go right the way through the checkout process (the publication is free but you need to check out)
• Once you see the successful order screen, go to My Account (top right)
• Click ‘View or download my previously purchased downloads'
• Click on the PDF icon to download the PDF
• The PDF  will download to your computer – wherever your downloads usually go (often your desktop or downloads folder). If you’re struggling to find it, search 'WhenShadowsFall_FINAL.pdf’.
