'My Language – Influences and Attitudes' is a 26-page photocopiable Video PDF encouraging students to think about their own language and how it creates a sense of identity and belonging. It uses students' investigations into their own language as a context for learning about accent, dialect, Received Pronunciation and Standard English. It offers opportunities to experiment creatively with language; find out more about how we use language and communicate; and explore how our language contributes to our identities as individuals and members of groups and communities.
The complete Language Works is the English and Media Centre's resource to excite students’ interest and develop their expertise as creative users of language at Key Stages 3 and 4.
