Duration - 2-3.30pm
There has been a very welcome focus in recent years on introducing more diversity into the curriculum. In response, AQA introduced new texts by writers of colour to their English Literature GCSE specification: My Name Is Leon, Princess & The Hustler and Leave Taking. While there was initial enthusiasm, concerns have since emerged about how best to teach these texts, particularly given the limited resources available, and there has been a call for CPD to support teachers in using them. The three practitioners delivering this course bring a wealth of expertise to this conversation. In this webinar, they will offer thought-provoking points for discussion around how to approach these texts and practical suggestions and resources for the classroom.
This course will be recorded but attendees will not be audible or visible.
